Former EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa has been announced as one of the stars set to enter 2019âs Iâm A Celebrityâ¦Get Me Out of Here! â" and has said that she wants to change the public's perception of her.
The 27-year-old actress, known for her role as Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap, hit the headlines recently for her battle with body-shaming trolls, as well as alleged relationship troubles.
(In March, Jossa posted a video to Instagram explaining that being told that she's 'put on weight' on a daily basis 'hurts,' â" and that 'I don't want to be told I'm fat and ugly, ok?'; while rumours that husband, former TOWIE star Dan Osborne, 28, cheated on her with Love Island contestant Alexandra Cane, have been circulating. Both parties firmly deny that anything happened.)
Appearing in the promo video for the series, due to air on the 17th of November, the mum-of two spoke about how she want to alter the public's perception of her: âI think people think I am a pushover or a doormat. I also think some people pity me,' she said.
'I want to show I am fine, I am up for a laugh and that I will go for it and try my best. Itâs going to be so difficult going in as me and thatâs definitely going to be the hardest part.
'I've never done a show where I have been myself. And I am also scared of everything â" especially spiders! They are the worst, there will be tears!'

As to anything she's looking forward to? 'I am really excited. This is something completely different and itâs going to be a totally new experience.â
Another positive is that her time in the camp will mean an enforced break from social media â" and therefore any nasty comments. 'I'm looking forward to not being on my phone and Instagram all the time. It will be a detox for me,' she added.
The show, located in the Australian outback, is known for bug-eating celebrity challenges and jungle living, natch â" but has become more recently known for its association with weight loss, with the 2018 season seeing the diet of rice and beans leading The Chase's Anne Hegerty to lose a stone in 19 days.
Speaking of the food situation in camp, Jossa said she 'can get hangry' with little food â" but that she's not worried about any potential weight loss.
'I do love my food but I am going in with an open mind. Itâs also going to be great getting to know everyone and if I lose any weight, I wonât mind. I will put it back on at Christmas anyway!' she said.
As to who will be lining up alongside Jossa in the survival of the fittest?
